5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Worth It, Feb 24 2006By S. M. Clark – Published on Amazon U.S.This review is from: Hugo in 3 Months French (Paperback)I am currently an 18 year old High School student. I had a very good experience with Hugo’s Spanish in 3 months and was able to skip Spanish 1 and 2 because of it. I took an interest in French and decided to do the same with French. After studying for about a month I was able to make good conversation. A foreign exchange student from France told me that my accent was better than that of our French teacher.French in 3 months provides an inexpensive way of attaing an intermediate proficency in French. After completing this book, you should understand all verb tenses as well as the complicated subjunctive mood (a topic only covered in French 3 at my High School) Each lesson is managable and enforced by a dialogue. The final part of the book includes an excerpt from Les Miserables, Le Nouvel observateur, and Le Monde. These are real life expamples of French. The pages are evenly spaced and concepts are put in a logical order. Unlike the text books at school, the text isn’t cheapened by cartoons and crazy colorful pages that make it hard to concentrate. The CD’s are necessary for pronunciation. They are complete and the speakers speak slowly precisely repeating tough sounds.Hugo French in 3 Months provides a systematic, no-nonsence way to learn French and I can’t imagine anyone being dissapointed.
