December 18, 2011By Ann MekeelAmazon Verified PurchaseAs a bassist with 49 years experience playing upright (double) bass along with 4 and 5-string electric basses, I bought Louis’ DVD several months ago thinking it would only help me improve my slap playing even though other musicians have told me my “slap & pop” technique is already very proficient. However, I’m pleased to announce I was wrong. This terrific DVD has helped me with my finger-style playing, too! Louis plays each lick at the identical BPM’s used when he played it on the “record” followed immediately by a “slooowww” version of same. Next he systematically and patiently shows & explains what he is doing with his left hand followed by the same for his right hand. I have learned a lot from this great DVD, and I still practice with it and learn from it about twice every week!
