This workshop presents an introduction to the art and science of the Tibetan Mantra Healing tradition. Mantra healing is the practice of using sound as a healing medium — the primordial sounds of nature, as well as divine words from the Sanskrit and Tibetan languages. It is a powerful method of bringing balance to various diseases, restoring health, and protecting against future disease for oneself and others.This course includes a theoretical introduction to Traditional Tibetan Medicine and mantra healing as well as the transmission of specific healing Mantras for various diseases from the ‘mantra pharmacy’, with practical applications.Dr. Nida Chenagtsang born in Amdo, Tibet, had always been interested in the traditional medicine of his people. He began his medical training in youth, apprenticing with local doctors in his nomadic region. He went on to graduate from the Tibetan Medical University in Lhasa and study with some of the foremost traditional doctors in Tibet. Dr. Nida also is a practitioner of the Ngakpa Tradition of Tibetan yogis, and has learned and practiced Tibetan Buddhism under many great masters, especially the teachings relating to healing. Fluent in English, Dr. Nida has a unique ability to communicate the subtleties of this ancient tradition to Westerners.Nida gives his talk in English and is followed by a Russian translator, but they do not speak over each other.Running time is about 17 hours.
