Description
Thirteen challenging martial arts-based workouts led by six experienced instructors. The programs combine modern exercise techniques with the ancient moves originally used to train Chinese warriors. It’s all designed to build speed, strength and agility. The actual exercises range from classic calisthenic and gym-style routines to Tai Chi, karate and even animal-inspired motions (e.g “move like a tiger”). Each workout is different. Some feature aero/tone intervals while others are pure cardio or pure toning. You also get lots of variety within each category (e.g. cardio: all high-intensity vs. fast/slow intervals; toning: total body vs. core-focused). In addition, each instructor brings their own personality and motivation to the two workouts they lead. The set has two booklets and 14 DVDS — 12 primary workouts plus an intro video and an instructional DVD. Requires weighted sand bags (or dumbbells). Three of the programs use a ceiling-mounted pull-up bar, but an alternate exercise is often shown. ©2011
