Heidi Tanner and Kimberly Spreen – Fast Cheetah
Heidi Tanner and Kimberly Spreen – Fast Cheetah
[1 DVD ]
Description
Master Instructors Heidi Tanner and Kimberly Spreen lead this highly creative, mostly-cardio workout. Burn fat and tone the core, hips & thighs with “Powerhouse Pilates” floorwork. Boot-camp drills plus Astanga (power) Yoga improve functional fitness. This pilates-cardio-yoga-weights FUSION workout uses Non-DominantSM (weak side first) training to equally develop both sides of the body. Mentally engaging, Fast Cheetah makes time fly while giving beautiful results. From the creator of the original Firm videos, you get six complete aero/tone interval workouts. Like the 1980/1990 Firms, you get endless variety and an ornate “mansion set.” The moves include lots of ultra-effective, aerobics-blended-with-dumbbell-toning (both as blends and as intervals) plus some Pilates and yoga. This six DVD-set is structured as three complementary cross-training workout pairs. The “base” pair is “Push Pull” and “Steamin’ Cardio. “Push Pull” has a body-sculpting focus with a few short, low-impact cardio segments. It works multiple muscle groups in both contraction and elongation with a fast pace and very fluid transitions. “Steamin’ Cardio” has a definite aerobic emphasis. It’s a non-stop fat-burner using everything from kickboxing and bootcamp to tall-step and “four limb” moves (it also includes a few short toning segments). The second complementary pair is “Strong Bear” and “Fast Cheetah.” “Strong Bear” is the most challenging of the entire set. Your heart rate stays elevated during the first half, while the second-half toning is non-stop. “Fast Cheetah” is the complementary opposite — it’s primarily fast-paced cardio exercises (both low and mixed-impact cardio). Note: both of these programs are different productions than Anna’s earlier videos with the same names. The final two workouts are body-sculpting focused. “Crunch Time” is extra-tough; it features a medley of Firm-style standing toning and four-limb aero/tone routines. It has lots of varied exercises that smoothly transition to keep you both mentally and physically engaged. “Floor Burn” is all toning and all done on the floor. It’s a blend of Pilates matwork and traditional floorwork (plus some floor yoga moves). Note: this KickButt series is slightly more intense than Anna’s similar “FitPrime” programs. Requires two sets of dumbbells and a high step (12-14 inches high). These programs are led by Heidi Tanner, Tamela Hastie, Kimberly Spreen and Keli Roberts (all teaching in the original Firm’s more “serious” cuing style). ©2005.
