Description
He has more than 30 years consistent Buddhist meditation practice experience including intensive retreats in Burma, Thailand, Australia and USA. Malcolm has written mindfulness based programs for clinical settings and a dissertation about this practice. As a psychologist he has used mindfulness training, in clinical intervention individually as well as in groups, courses and retreats for more than a decade.A meditation built on the idea of trance identification with a future idealised, or present higher realized, self.Present centred awareness has been used as a self regulatory mechanism and a self discovery process. Present centred awareness may facilitate peak experiences which can transform habitually detrimental tendencies. Present centred awareness may also be instrumental in resolving inner and interpersonal conflict and engendering love or nonjudgemental acceptance. Moreover, present centred awareness may diminish dukkha because it helps align ones perception of one’s self in accordance with the way things are or the truth. According to Buddhists the nature of the self is empty and insight into its emptiness, with present centred awareness, is intrinsically liberating.
