Reconnecting to the Land and Food& the Tale of Two Calvesby Michael SchmidtMore and more the government is deciding what is good for us and what is not. More and more they control what we can eat — and it isn’t for our health! At stake are our basic human rights.THIS IS AN INSPIRING, IMPASSIONED TALK from the front lines in the battle over important freedoms — many things you may not realize are going on. I hope this talk helps you do your part to protect our freedom to healthy food.THE BEST PART: He concludes with the fascinating story of his experiment with two calves: one was fed raw milk, the other was fed pasteurized milk. The differences are astonishing. This tale is well worth the price of admission. At least fast forward to the last 20 minutes to hear this part.SPEAKER: Michael Schmidt, Ontario dairy farmer, trained in biodynamic farming in Germany, and moved to his farm in Canada in 1983. No-one has ever gotten sick from drinking the raw milk from Michael’s farm, but that doesn’t matter to the Ontario government. Police raided his farm in November, 2006 and charged him with 19 offences under Ontario’s mandatory pasteurization laws. Schmidt defended himself and won an important victory in January, 2010: the court pronounced him “not guilty” on all charges. But the government wasn’t satisfied with this ruling; it launched an appeal.Schmidt believes that informed consumers should have the choice about what they eat and drink — that you, and not the government, are best equiped to decide how to look after your own health and well-being. His battles over raw milk are just the tip of an iceberg that we are all facing today concerning our basic human right to choose many healthy foods.A single MP3 audio file — 1 hour and 47 minutes, plus bonus file of Intro to Weston Price.A lecture filmed at the Wise Traditions Conference 2010 of the Weston A.
